Donna is a veteran educator with experience in public school districts and for the non-profit Northwest Evaluation Association. During her time at NWEA, the organization grew from a collegial organization of 400 school districts to more than 1,800 member school districts in nearly every state and in three countries. NWEA pioneered the use and usefulness of student assessments, including computerized adaptive testing, to focus on individual student growth and timely reporting. Donna’s work as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Northwest Evaluation Association, focused on developing, implementing, and monitoring the alliances that NWEA builds with organizations that have corresponding missions. She worked to leverage NWEA’s research capacity to inform national education policy. Using her expertise in student assessment, Donna also worked closely with school districts across the country, coaching staff in the use of data for improving effectiveness. Prior to her work at NWEA, Donna was a teacher and served in a variety of school administrative roles for 18 years. As a director of curriculum and instruction, she coordinated all aspects of curriculum design, staff development, instructional model design and student assessment. With her more than 20 years of working in and with some of the most innovative and respected schools in the country, she has demonstrated the ability to build effective teams, lead others to contribute positively, make sound decisions, and accomplish goals.
